The Outstanding Senior in Criminal Justice Administration is by definition the department's nominee for Mansfield University's "Outstanding Senior Award." According to Mansfield University, the student must be a graduating senior of the current academic year, have an academic achievement of at least a 3.0 QPA and have shown exemplary leadership and service to Mansfield University and the community.
Within the Department of Criminal Justice, preference is given to seniors who will graduate Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude or Cum Laude; belong to either the Lambda Alpha Epsilon National Criminal Justice Fraternity or Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal justice Honor Society; and provide service or leadership to the department.
An "At-Large Nominee" may be nominated by an individual faculty member.
The Outstanding Freshman, Sophomore and Junior in Criminal Justice Administration is determined entirely by grade point average. A certificate and $100 scholarship is awarded to each recipient. Awarded yearly in the fall for the previous academic year; commencing in Sept 2008.
The Outstanding Student in Criminal Justice Administration is not restricted to any class level nor does it rely upon a grade point average; rather it is awarded when a student provides a service to the department over-and-above what is expected within a Criminal Justice fraternity or club obligation. A certificate and $100 scholarship is awarded to each recipient. Awarded when a deserving student is identified; commencing in Sept 2008.
